Today on the blog we wanted to talk a little about Qigong and what someone should consider first if they are considering trying it out!

Here are 5 Things to Consider if You’re Considering Qigong!

Identify Your Goal

Choosing a type of qigong can be easier if you have a primary goal in mind. Are you hoping to heal from past trauma? Are you hoping to manage a chronic condition? Identifying your goal is the first step.

Choose Your Learning Path

Once you identify your goal, you can start to consider what path to take on your Qigong journey. You can read, watch videos, but the best way to learn is to come in and try a class in person!

Finding Resources / a Mentor

You know what you want to do, and you’ve decided how you’re going to do it.. Who are you going to learn from? Finding a good qigong teacher isn’t easy, but luckily you found one of the best teachers in WNY in Susi!

Ask. Ask. Ask.

You may have heard the old saying, “there’s no such thing as a dumb question.” When you find your qigong teacher, ask as many questions as you can! That’s part of the path!

Try out different styles

You may not even know this yet, but there are alternative styles of qigong, and finding a great teacher is the first step in learning all the different styles to be able to master your qigong journey!

Qigong is a practice that focuses traditionally on the mind, body, and spirit. It comes from ancient Chinese philosophy and medicine, aiming to ensure a person’s life force, or qi flows freely through the body.
